Open Question: Is it bad if a 32 year man old has no dating experience?
I am really beginning to feel like I will never experience a relationship. I am a regular, single, straight, 32 year old male from NY, who is currently working on a doctorate (juris). I have never had a girlfriend or even a first kiss. I have gone on maybe two or three dates in my entire life, all of which took place about 10 years ago. Since then I have not met anyone that was both eligible and mutually interested in dating me. People told me when I was in high school that I'd have a bunch of girlfriends - nope. Then people told me I would have too many girlfriends to count in college - nope. So when does it all happen? I am always looking! I am involved with my community and church, school. I am constantly around people to meet but I come up with nothing; I don't avoid people either, I am quite sociable.
My friends and acquaintances are telling me to hurry up as it will get more and more difficult as I get older. I am also told that my "still" living at home will be a major turn off to girls. I don't get that at all, because that's really only an issue if you want to engage in premarital sex. I am strongly opposed to premarital sex, and if privacy is desired, we can go for a drive or to someplace with fewer people around. My living at home is not likely an issue, nor is it really even the business of any potential dates - at least not initially.
Another thing I hear is that my lack of interests is hurting - and will continue to hurt - my chances of attracting a lady. I do not like traveling, dancing, sports, concerts, etc. I am into reading, coins and working on my career. I think I would be great one on one with a lady and would be more than capable of entertaining her. I would also be somewhat flexible if she wanted to do something in which I was not interested.
What do you think about all of this?

Resolved Question: Have you checked your states unclaimed funds lately?
Have you checked your unclaimed funds list lately. You may be on it. I have found a lot of local people on the list. Many have had money they didn't know about.
Here is the search site for NY
https://ouf.osc.state.ny.us/ouf/
Here's a phone number for PA
Approximately one in ten Pennsylvanians have unclaimed property – do you? Search your name and the names of your friends and family in the Unclaimed Property database or call 1-800-222-2046. Or http://www.patreasury.gov/Unclaimed/Search.html
LOOK FOR YOUR STATE IN A WEB SEARCH.
To better insure that your on the proper web site your search should say "your state" unclaimed funds, and the words on the bottom of the search page should have a government listing for your state. All others are out to get your cash. When in doubt check your local phone book for government listings.
Yes this is the same thing that was seen on Montel and Oprah. But they were trying to get you to pay the network to search. Usually a state does not charge a fee.
The money can be a refund for an old phone bill, or electric etc... Or a HUD refund you forgot about. A last pay check you did not receive. An old insurance claim etc...
If you have traveled you may also turn up in different states. For restaurant refunds, travel refunds, lost baggage or items, etc...
Schools, businesses, non profit organizations and even actors and actresses end up on the list. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SEARCH!
People usually check these things at home, and home seems to get more traffic.
So that is where I will list my question.
Grayson and Mary: First Grayson. Yes they do put you through hoops to prove you are the actual legal recipient. My mother in laws took over a year. But there was a rather large sum of money from a "almost 50 year old" insurance claim. Others got there money in about a week. It depends on what the claim is. Also some states specify on there web site as to where the money came from. Such as REPORTED BY then the companies name the money came from. Some times insurance, a refund from utility company x, etc... I know that not every state does it the same.
MARY: You do not have to pay for a web site that shows the different state government offices that handle these claims. You can find them online for FREE, or get out your phone book. When you paid for your information, you basically paid to fill some ones pocket.
TO ALL: If you get a letter in the mail stating you have unclaimed money, don't reply. These people want 25 to 30 percent commission for what you can do for

Resolved Question: You ever get the feeling you haven't accomplished anything?
And I'm not talking just about being a doctor, lawyer, or successful business person or professor...I got introduced to a bunch of different people this summer, I'm originally from NJ and moved down to FL...well my ex-girlfriend I met down here comes from pretty humble beginnings...would go as far as to say she is poor...but she went to Las Vegas twice, New Orleans a bunch, went to Puerto Rico shortly after we broke up...she studied in Canada and Costa Rica...her brother lived in NY and traveled to Japan....I was born in England, been to India, Canada and Mexico but for some reason it feels like I haven't really been anywhere or done much of anything and I'm 28...seems like from my background I should have done a hell of a lot more, I just feel lazy...this girl who was a few years younger than me, my next door neighbor actually...is in med school right now plus she traveled all over the world...I just feel rather boring, not worldly, and unresourceful.....it's all rather depressing...also feel as though I have wasted a bunch of time, never really had many friends, real or acquaintainces and that my life is going nowhere....it gives me incredible anxiety sometimes and I feel as though my heart is about to cave in.
I know there are people way worse off, I worked with a women who hasn't even seen most of tampa and she has lived here her whole life...I don't know, it feels like I have only gotten places because of my pops and if I used my resources properly I could have had an amazing life up until now, all sorts of stories, memories, dear friends...in the end isn't that what it is all about?
Still trying to get out there and do stuff, just don't know where to begin....I feel insignificant and that I have a really small life...fear it will always be this way also as now the trend with the recession has become you are lucky if you can get a cubicle to be chained to for 30 years and feel fortunate that you can retire when you are old and feeble.
Also, and I'm assuming the reason for the problem, I kind of feel as though it's all wishful thinking, like the grass is always greener, and it would be exciting to go on global adventures but I'm not sure if I have it in me....I get the sinking suspicion that I would be like a lost puppy out on some south american mountaintop or in a european hostile....what do you think?
Need response and stories of people who have traveled and done exciting things and have interesting lived and also the pros and cons...thank guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Naguru...if you are not being sarcastic, it pains me to hear that it feels as though I am reading your mind....with a name like Naguru I'm going to assume you are indian...I'm indian also, and as much as I'd hate to admit it, I think it is definitely a culture thing, like how the way we are raised....were only taught to be successful at all costs but what does that really mean you know....feel free to email me, I think we could pick each other's brains.

Resolved Question: If I'd like to persue a career in book/fashion editing, SHOULD I go to New York for undergrad? ?
I'm 17 and still in high school. I'm interested in majoring in either journalism or English in college. I'd like to become a book editor or a fashion magazine editor. I love writing and I'm very interested in these options (:
My concern is whether or not I ought to leave my home state of Florida. I don't have a problem with leaving Florida to study elsewhere, but I'd prefer to stay in the south east region of the country because traveling to the other side of the country at 18 kind of seems like a longshot. I realize that regardless I will end up having to move up there if I want to pursue these careers but I don't know WHEN. I'd love to intern at a magazine or publishing company but I worry that I may not be able to if I'm not in NY.
Could I find such a place in Floridian cities such as Tallahassee (FSU), Orlando (UCF), Gainesville (UF), Sarasota (NCF), or Miami (UM).
Also what about Atlanta, GA? (Emory U.)
Around Durham, NC? (Duke U.)
And Nashville, TN? (Vanderbilt U.)
Although somebody these schools are located in larger cities, they don't compare to NY. I don't want my limited interning opportunities in undergrad to hurt me later on because I know that a part of making it in this business is 'knowing the right people'. :\
What should I do? Is this the only way to make it?
I'm open to applying to universities up north although money may be a problem. I was planning on moving to Massachusetts or New York for grad school anyway but if I HAVE to leave earlier then I guess its ok. (I hate cold weather though hahaa) .

Resolved Question: Does Singapore Airlines serve Red Bull?
I'm just wondering this as i've never seen red bull served on a flight before. Im traveling from Singapore to NY (via frankfurt) in 2 weeks and I believe Red Bull will be a necessary source of caffeine to aid me sleep at the right times and avoid jet lag. (I don't like instant coffee or caffeine pills- but I am travelling business class and I heard something like they make Nespresso coffee beverages on the A380?)

We're a business operating out of Pennsylvania and traveling to NY state for business. I've looked into The Department of Taxation and Finance website as well as the Department of States' website and I'm so lost; I can't seem to find any verification as to weather or not our Out of State business would have to pay taxes for both states or not. We currently have a FEIN for PA; would I also needs one for NY?

Voting Question: Being held in a deport camp?
I have a dear friend that is being held in a deport camp in Virginia. He was up for deportation and it was blocked, so now he is being told that they r waiting for a formal release papers from Nigeria to set him free.
He was only in Nigeria for business for a year, he has lived in Virginia for over seven years and is not yet a us citizen nor is he a Nigerian. Once his flight got into NY, he was detained. Nigeria says he violated and breach of immigration security rules. Then says he has no criminal record with the security operations in Nigeria and they want alot of money to send a letter from nigeria to Virginia to release him.
This is a very true story and my facts have been investigated and proven that this is what is actually happening to my friend. My question is no one has the money that Nigeria is asking for to send a letter for a release from Nigeria to virginia.
Will they send him back regardless if the money for the letter is not sent to Nigeria for the release letter to virginia?..How long will they hold him in the deport camp. He is in a deport camp not in the ICE program and is not in a jail or prison. He has not committed any serious crimes and it sounds like Nigeria is doing this because they want money just as Nigeria is known for.
Will USA, eventually set him free as time served or will they send him back even thou Nigeria did a block on his deportation. The camp he is in is called a deport camp for sure. I have done my homework on this situation but I am not sure how Nigeria can do this when I was advised by uncle on this site that Nigeria can not do what he is going through.
How long will they hold him in the deport camp in Virginia and if Nigeria stop the deportation once, can they request for hm to b deported again just because he has not paid the hi price for the letter that they can send to virginia to grant his freedom? All of his travel documents where in order so he thought....
I have spoken to him twice and no one seems to know anything to tell him except for that they r waiting for a word from Nigeria, just as Nigeria removed the deportation on him just a few weeks ago at a price and they r the reason he is being detained now. Contact has been made with Nigeria and they r basically saying that he violated a rule only and when u send us X-anount of dollars they will send USA a release letter to Virginia that will set him free within 24hours.
This is so unfair to him and seems not to b true, but this is a very true story and I have been to the facility that he is being housed in but he could not receive visitors but they let me talk to him on the phone there.
If I could afford a lawyer I would not b asking u guys to help me if u can.
This sounds so crazy but it is true and I would love to know how long will this deport camp house him and his son.
